BEA-CON-CEPT This has been conceptualized as an activity-based,
fun-filled program to enhance and enrich learning and Life Skills through game
boards, team games, worksheets, out-of-class activities/competitions, project
preparations and conservation education through actual experiences.
Learning-through-Play, and Learning-through-Experiences is a part and parcel of
this program.
EDUCATION EXCURSIONS Every student from Grade I-X is expected to
participate in an overnight excursion as scheduled by the school. This is a
compulsory activity and students will be allowed to remain absent only on
medical grounds.
Besides these, every class is taken on regular day
excursions in keeping with the curriculum.
INTER-DISCIPLINARY UNITS Grades I - VIII work on two topics per year
and do an in depth study of the same. This is then presented by the students
through power-point presentation, dramatization, debates, posters and
projects.
TEACH MAT Preparing teaching materials and using them in the teaching
learning process is an ongoing program at Beacon High. Our Teachers prepare
hands - on material, game boards, task cards, flash cards etc and use them
profusely to enhance what is being taught. The objective of this is to teach
through the use of all the modalities-visual, auditory and kinesthetic.
ADVANCE PLACEMENT for TALENTED & GIFTED (APTAG) Special enhanced
courses are made available to students who we feel are intellectually far above
the age and class level. These courses provide an academic challenge to the
student capable of doing work at a higher level. The Advanced Placement Program
is designed by Special Educators under the guidance of the Principal. This
program takes the child forward to satisfy his potentialities.
BEACON STUDENT CARE PROGRAM (BESTCAP) We strongly advocate 'Inclusive
Education' and as such we have Counsellors and Special Educators as part of our
faculty to work on a one-to-one basis with students with special needs and to
offer support to each and every child who needs guidance.
